Job Description:

RECRUITING NOW FOR JANUARY 2019

CNC Millers / CNC Turners

X-Cel Superturn Ltd, established in 1984, is a manufacturer of high specification component parts and assemblies, based within the inspiring Advanced Manufacturing Park with neighbours including McLaren, Boeing and Rolls Royce.  

We are going through a period of expansion, and are proactively looking to build our own talent pool of skilled machinists, who we can recruit as we continue to grow, as & when vacancies arise.  You will be employed on a permanent, full time day shift basis.  Opportunities to work on afternoon (night) shifts, may be available to senior operators, dependent on experience & our business needs.

You would be required to effectively program, set and operate the CNC machine in order to produce orders on time and to the required high quality standards.  These roles would suit qualified engineers looking to develop and progress.  

 

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Machining exotic materials e.g. 625,718, using FANUC 32i control system
  • Able to understand complex engineering drawings
  • Able to set complex jobs in a timely manner
  • Able to modify existing programs
  • Create simple programs from scratch in a timely manner
  • Use measuring equipment and basic CMM
  • Implement minor and suggest major tooling changes
  • Suggest process changes to engineering department
  • Assist and instruct others
  • Loading varying size components into the machines competently
  • Monitoring long cycle times
  • Take full responsibility for the machines and area around them
  • Uphold health and Safety, environmental and quality policies
  • Flexible approach to work, and willing to support colleagues

 

Person Description:

 

Our successful candidate must have:

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in engineering - ideally apprentice-trained
  • Strong work ethic
  • Willingness and ability to follow management directions to achieve results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time keeping skills
  • Enthusiasm and desire to learn
  • Ability to work alone and part of a team

 

Hours & Remuneration:

Day shift: Monday-Thursday 07:00-16:00, Friday 07:00-12:00

£ highly competitive hourly rate + overtime paid weekly

30 days holiday per year (including Bank Holidays)

Final Inspector

X-Cel Superturn Ltd is a manufacturer of high specification component parts and assemblies, based within the prestigious Advanced Manufacturing Park with neighbours including McLaren and Rolls Royce.  Established in 1984, our privately owned award-winning company is expanding.  We are pleased to release the following brand new opportunity to join our valued team;

This is a permanent, full time role for an experienced Final Inspector, required to effectively check our manufactured products to ensure they leave us with the required highest quality standards. 

 

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Take responsibility for the final inspection of our outgoing products, and that they have full traceability and with no defects or damage
  • Uphold Health and Safety, environmental and quality policies
  • Flexible approach to work, and willing to support colleagues

 

Person Description:

Our successful candidate must have:

  • Previous experience specifically in a Final Inspection capacity
  • Excellent, concise attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent timekeeping skills & able to manage your own workload
  • Strong work ethic

This is a regular day shift position working 39 hours per week with an early finish on Fridays

Monday-Thursday 07:00-16:00, Friday 07:00-12:00

Job Description:

Painter/Sprayer

 

X-Cel Superturn Ltd is a manufacturer of high specification component parts and assemblies, based within the prestigious Advanced Manufacturing Park with neighbours including McLaren and Rolls Royce.  Established in 1984, our privately owned award-winning company is expanding.  We are pleased to release the following brand new opportunity to join our valued team;

This is a permanent, full time role for an experienced Painter/Sprayer, who is required to effectively finish our machined components to the required highest quality standards. 

 

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

·         The industrial spray coating of machined components (using HVLP equipment and Xylan/Molykote paint)

·         Application of protective thermosetting PTFE resin and other coatings to specific thickness and adhesion properties as defined by customer and national standards (experience of this is critical)

·         Surface preparation of products to be coated using mechanical blasting and chemical processes

·         Handling high value parts in a safe and careful manner, (weighing up to 350kg) with the use of overhead lifting equipment

·         Commitment to consistently producing a quality product including inspecting and recording accurate and auditable information.

·         Adhere to strict Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and legislation.

 

Person Description:

Our successful candidate must have:

-          Previous experience as an HVLP sprayer

-          Previous Blasting experience (advantageous)

-          NVQ Level 1 or 2  in Finishing (advantageous)

-          Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-          Excellent timekeeping skills with the ability to manage your own workload

-          Strong work ethic

-          Enthusiasm, with the desire to learn

-          Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
